My tip for enhancing employee performance:
When people don’t produce at work or don’t do well in school or life, the response is more often than not “try harder.”
– “Be more efficient…”
– “Stop being lazy…|
– “Don’t put yourself down…|
The “try harder” brigade’s theory is based on this: “You are not productive because you are not doing enough”; there is no real reason, just your poor attitude.
If it solves it, great, but usually this doesn’t work because attitude always comes before action! .
So, how do you change attitudes? – Glad you ask!
The reason for any lack of improvement be in a job, in a group or individually comes from one simple fact: you don’t know enough, about the job, you have got the wrong information or what you do know you don’t understand sufficiently to be able to put it into practice.
If you knew how to do something correctly, would you purposely do it wrong to fail?
Take, right now, any area that you don’t feel you have full control over or troubles you and study up on it. Grab that book or manual about your job or ask that person!
